Stair Society Bursary Awards

The Stair Society encourages the postgraduate study of the history of Scots law. In furtherance of this objective we are pleased to have awarded bursaries of £1000 each to two postgraduate students for the academic year 2017/18.

  • Stephanie Dropuljic is a doctoral candidate in the School of Law, University of Aberdeen and an Elphinstone scholar and the title of her thesis is Law, Politics and the Prosecution of Crime from 1580-1672 in Scotland.
  • Hannah Telling is an AHRC funded PhD candidate at the University of Glasgow and is researching towards a thesis entitled The Legal Regulation of Male Violence in Scotland, 1850-1914.

We wish Stephanie and Hannah every success in their studies. Complimentary membership of the Stair Society has been awarded to each of them the period covered by the awards.

The Society will consider making similar bursary awards for the academic year 2018/19 and further information about this will be available early in 2018.
